In the depths of the winter, there was a child whom wandered the streets alone. No one knew her name, but knew of her. She was dressed thinly, with her shoes almost worn through. She dragged around a ragged teddy bear that looked to be as old as she, maybe even older.
    She spoke to no one, and they returned in kind. When she came near the other children of the town, they all quieted and got out of her way. She would never look at them, wishing she were invisible.
    One day, without word, the girl suddenly disappeared, and no one knew.
